Shopping is fun when money is not a problem

There's somethin' 'bout the way
The street looks when it's just rained
There’s a glow off the pavement
Walk me to the car
And you know I wanna ask you to dance right there
In the middle of the parking lot
Yeah

We're drivin' down the road
I wonder if you know
I'm tryin' so hard not to get caught up now
But you're just so cool
Run your hands through your hair
Absentmindedly makin' me want you

And I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me head first
Fearless
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance
In a storm in my best dress
Fearless

So baby drive slow
‘Til we run out of road in this one horse town
I wanna stay right here in this passenger’s seat
You put your eyes on me
In this moment now capture every memory

And I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me head first
Fearless
And I don't know why but with you I’d dance
In a storm in my best dress
Fearless

Well you stood there with me in the doorway
my hands shake
I'm not usually this way but
You pull me in & I’m a little more brave
It’s the first kiss, it's flawless, really somethin’, it’s fearless

And I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me head first
Fearless
And I don't know why but with you I’d dance
In a storm in my best dress
Fearless

That's why you should come play in my head! My daydreams are awesome.

Okay, so these are the next few expensive things I plan to buy/procure... after I get my first job, maybe. Most (or actually, maybe all) are photography-related, so hopefully they will pay for themselves eventually.

Kubota/Boutwell actions: Hey. What can I say? They are sort of like cosmetics for my photos. I'm tired of freehanding it.

Wide lens: I'd honestly like a 10-22 for now or something, but would probably want the 17-40 or something equivalent when I finally get that amazing 5D Mark II which is... purchase #2. But oh, I lust for the corner distortion and ability to capture amazing architectural delights witnessed upon my myriad travels... I feel the expense will help validate my traveling, so you know. Spending money to enhance spending other money... that's great logic, and a philosophy of which I am personally extremely proud. I'm willing to trade the 70-200 for this lens (and cash difference), since I barely use that white elephant of a lens. Hah, so clever, did you notice that? I referred to the big, white, heavy Canon lens as a white elephant! WOW.

5D Mark II: Will probably be my celebratory first-paycheck gift to myself for landing a real job. And it will forthwith be made to be super useful. It will earn its keep. Oh, yes. I anticipate me needing at least another year with the trusty 30D before I can get this one. I plan to shoot amazing weddings with this thing. And hopefully it will help me get a little more into videography, which interests me not a little.

Lasik: I'm actually really hopeful that my first job's health insurance coverage will do something about this one... But even if not, I'll save up for it. It's useful in many different ways... I don't want my corneas to erode from contacts, and I am tired of glasses... hehe. I think photographers need to have good vision - and if I ever end up doing some awesome government agent or rescuer job, just think how stupid I'll feel when terrorists come blitzing into my apartment at night and I get nabbed because I couldn't remember where I left my glasses in the bathroom. Yes. That is exactly why I need Lasik.

iMac: This is sort of a wish for now... But I used these in the comm school and they're nice, juicy displays for working on photos. *wistful* I can survive nicely without it for a while, though.

Alien Bees: I feel like these would be useful at some point as well, but they're also just more of a far-off fantasy at the moment.

However, I'm pretty happy with what I have at the moment: 24-70mm, 30D, contacts/glasses and broken MacBook. That's a good thing, because I'm pretty sure the worth of all of these items combined is around $15K. Saving is a good thing.*
